52%-48% were the margins to which the British public voted to leave the EU. A shock result but one that, as the percentages suggest, tore the country in two. From the results in 2016 to the official withdrawal in 2019, the country has seen 3 Primer Ministers, 2 general elections and various legal challenges. These images were taken during that period in Westminster, the heart of power in the UK, where the media, the politicians and the public attacked each other relentlessly. The country seemed to be slipping into a national insanity and there was little idea of how to resolve the situation.
